Anechoic Lazaret is a location in Torment: Tides of Numenera.

Hopelessly sealed since the dawn of the Ninth World, the Lazaret has been recently unlocked by Salimeri. Judging by the fact it responds to the eye of a mlox, the Lazaret seems to have been built by machine intelligences - or even a machine civilization. Whatever built it, your task is to secure it.

Points of interest[]

  • Once you climb down, you will be immediately accosted by a Peerless construct, which will proclaim it (their?) perfection and demand that you leave the Lazaret immediately. If you fail to do so, you will be immediately attacked. If you do not move down the corridors, you have only the three constructs to deal with. Otherwise, you need to brawl your way through them.
  • To shut down the droids, you need to deactivate the three control terminals across the level. There's one in each corner (the area is shaped like a triangle), and they are shaped like obelisks. Each obelisk tests Icon Intellect small.png Intellect (Lore: Mystical, Lore: Machinery) and needs to be interacted with to purge the Lazaret Intelligence. Interacting successfully with an obelisk resets a third of the drones (the ones that spawned near the obelisks) to their default personalities (becoming inscrutable Drones).
  • You can find the source of the infestation just south of the entrance, in a locked room, and use Icon Intellect small.png Intellect (Persuasion) to learn how it got there, Icon Speed small.png Speed (Lore: Machinery, Quick Fingers) to disable it, or Icon Might small.png Might (Smashing) to destroy it and disable the entire thing.
  • Once you're done, search the area. There's a sprayflesh and shins near the northern obelisk, more shins right next to it, Elutriated Force to the northeast, Chromavulum near the eastern obelisk, and the Antagonist oddity in the western room.
