Dynafel is a walled city in the Kingdom of Iscobal.

Background[ | ]

Dynafel is a settlement known for its unique spin cotton cloth (named for the city itself), alongside other textiles, fabrics, and culture. Recently, however, it has fallen victim to attacks by clouds of the Yellow Swarm, which even the city's guards and stone walls have failed to quell. The city is home to 60,000 people that live in simple wooden structures with narrow streets and is run by a rotund mayor named Harcorth Munn, who never goes anywhere without his entourage and his mechanical warder pet. Well liked and well known by the citizenry, Harcorth is no stranger to bars, gambling dens, and brothels that also call Dynafel home.[1]

The Dreaming Reliquary[ | ]

Additionally located within Dynafel is a facility known as the Dreaming Reliquary, where Aeon Priests have kept and continue to conduct research on the remnants of the late Queen Sarromere's obsession with dreams. As such, it has been filled with devices that can implant specific dreams, transmit dreams from one person to another, spy upon someone's dreams, among other, stranger purposes. The Dreaming Reliquary is led by an Aeon Priest named Narla Deshu, the lead expert in the field, who, while denouncing the Queen's goals as being "childish", still misses the previous ruler's interest and experimentation with numenera. Her own work of late has begun to be viewed by others as continued support for the House of Sarromere, though she denies such speculations and asserts her allegiance is solely to the Order of Truth and that she would only want the government to continue funding her dream-based research.[2]
