A stichus (plural: sticha) is an insect-like creature in Torment: Tides of Numenera.
Physical description
The stichus is insect-like, and equipped with claws. It also emits an electrical charge.
Habitat and diet
The stichus lives underground, perpetually digging for shelter as well as food. It prefers hard rock, since it eats the sparks created when its claws hit stone. A Stichus may survive by consuming the electrical charge from Numenera and other devices.
A community of sticha is present in Sagus Cliffs, as well as the Bloom, although it is probable that the creature originated from elsewhere.
Reproduction
The stichus lays eggs which have an electrical charge. They are quite valuable.
Communication
The stichus language is composed of a mixture of pheromones, gestures, and clicking sounds.
Relationship with humans
While not aggressive against humans (or any others somewhat peaceful species), their acts may lead to the loss of humans lives. To the sticha, an human live as no more value than the live of an insect to an human. They don't consider human to be sentient because they see us as a dissonant specie, unable to truly coexist.
